About Dr. Moore

Dr. Michael Moore, DO, ABFM, FAAFP

Dr. Michael Moore is a board-certified family physician, military combat veteran, educator, and lifelong advocate for whole-person healthcare. A 1992 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Moore brings more than 33 years of clinical experience spanning conventional family medicine, urgent care, preventive medicine, leadership, and medical education, including over 20 years of urgent care practice in North Carolina.

He served 12 years of active duty as a U.S. Army Aviation and Family Medicine Specialist, attending both college and medical school on full military scholarships. His global assignments included Hawaii, Germany, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Guam, and the Caribbean, where he provided tactical medical support to elite military and federal agencies including the CIA and DEA. Dr. Moore also spent 8 years at Fort Bragg as Senior Flight Surgeon and Officer in Charge of Clark Health Clinic, the largest primary care clinic in the Department of Defense. He is the recipient of numerous military honors, including the prestigious Star of St. Michael for his leadership and service with the XVIII Airborne Corps.

Following his military career, Dr. Moore spent 9 years practicing at WakeMed in Raleigh, where he became known for his compassionate, education-driven style of care. For the past 8 years, he has also served as an Associate Clinical Professor at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine, helping train the next generation of physicians while strengthening community healthcare networks throughout North Carolina.

Now based in New Hanover County, Dr. Moore serves as Medical Director of Streamline Healthcare. After decades inside the conventional medical model, he found himself increasingly drawn toward a functional, preventive, root-cause approach to medicine. He maintains a referral partnership with a licensed naturopathic doctor, allowing patients access to functional lab interpretation including mineral analysis, DUTCH hormone testing, and metabolic panels alongside conventional care. His view is that medicine should not merely manage symptoms, but help people build resilience and energy through food, movement, sunlight, sleep, and stress reduction.

A lifelong swimmer and former Division I NCAA distance athlete at La Salle University, Dr. Moore still swims open water miles alongside his four children, all competitive swimmers and athletes themselves. His mission is to bring families together through better health, meaningful community, and accessible, patient-centered care.
